You're totally wrong. People value different things and thus, success comes with different meanings. Success to one can mean fortune and money. To another, success can mean freedom and just being their own boss.

Just because you're not catering to the most profitable demands does not mean that you won't grow to be successful. If you have the will power, motivation, and determination, you'll be successful no matter what you do.

Fyi, doing something you're passionate about is going to be a lot easier than doing something that you're indifferent about. Stop chasing money; let money chase after you.

OP, I graduated from a reputable school with an accounting degree, got hired by the largest accounting firm on the west coast, and didn't think twice before walking out of my manager's door for the last time. Just like business, if you're not 110% passionate about accounting, I suggest you think twice before declaring that as your major. The work was very mundane, brainless, and outright boring. Everything that I did was a repetition of the day before.

mmm id say your totally wrong: Apparently you are in the wrong place...

im not arguing this point, i agree with you on this, but its not that easy, market research must be done otherwise your just hoping there is demand.

Success is making the most amount of money in the shortest amount of time. Were not here to talk about "fulfillment".

We are here to talk about financial success, if you are lonely go buy a monkey, if you are sad when you see sick people send some money to a foreign country.

Let me ask you a question? Do you think there is more potential in owning an insurance company or in fixing up hot rods?

Which one is going to be easier to start/run?

Which one has a larger target market?

Which one has customers looking for you not you looking for them?

Which one has more potential to upsell the customer?

Which one is going to be more scalable?

Which one is going to have more people interested in buying out your business?

Im not saying you should hate something and go into it if that is your personality, but a TRUE entrepreneur starts a business to fulfill a need don't they?

Guess what i love magazines, i think publications are great, but should i start a publication like your telling me to or an internet business in todays market.

You put 50 people on an island with nothing and everyone is begging for food... an entrepreneur is going to find food and get services in exchange for it.

So maybe the guy gathering food likes cars but in that situation who cares about a car? This is just like society, people dont care what you like or want but they care about what they need/want.

Some businesses are BETTER, EASIER to run, and have a BETTER chance to be bought out.

We could talk about this forever, the reason people say you must love your business is because you need to constantly learning about it 24/7, me personally if its going to make money i can do that regardless if i hate it or not, some people are weaker and cant do that.

One day i should introduce you to my friend, he sells ball bearings to the government, has a little over a hundred million in the bank (self-made). Pretty sure he said "i dont give a shit about bearings, im smart enough to care about what everyone else needs."
