Hi guys, so this is a bit of a rant, but on top of it I'd really appreciate some advice because my future somewhat depends on the choices I will make this year.
I have a graphic design agency which I work on frequently. No workers, just myself whenever I'm open and ready for orders. Unfortunately, it's also my last year of high school and I have been very stupid to prioritize money and work over school. I have always been a gifted student at a young age, however this year my grades aren't pulling their weight at all. I suspect my English teacher doesn't like me very much as we are almost polar opposites and she has not been kind to me with grading this year. I have missed a few units of every class, and now that the diploma exams are coming out next month, I'd really like some advice as what you would do in my situation.
I am very gifted in math, and had a 96% overall in Calculus which has dropped down to a 73% after getting a 0 on my last exam for not being prepared, as well as a 79% in Social Studies and a whopping 57% in English. These are atrocious grades and I was wondering what you would do in my situation. These marks do not reflect my intelligence whatsoever as I am certain I could ace math and social, but since I stupidly prioritized work over school I have been frankly getting shafted and it would be very demoralizing to see others who are not as smart get accepted into university. Heartbreaking for my parents, for sure.
I'm not sure what to do and I'm certain I could pull up Social and Math; but should I retake Language Arts after the year? I want to get into University of Calgary for entrepreneurship but English is really holding me back; I've tried to write my best but keep getting 60's and frankly it's a very stressful time. Please give some advice to an ambitious 17 year old.
I know I deserve to be in that class and I'm extremely ambitious towards business, but high school is a hurdle I absolutely despise, and I don't know if that will stop me from reaching my goal. It's incredibly sad.
