He will not get 5%.. He will be lucky to get 2 or 3 out of every 1,000..
Also, he is just opening a lead generation company.. I don't think he ever mentioned actually doing the work.
300,000 mailers over 6 weeks is a very tall order, not something I would do, but then again thinking about it, probably something I would do.
Are all 300,000 of these affluent houses in one city or you doing this in multiple cities?
You are doing the one stop, yard/pool/etc deal right? Do all your lawn care businesses also do Pools,etc. like what is the deal? what is your split or are you just charging for the lead? What are you training the guys on?
I see a bigger problem is not the calls it is facilitating the calls in a timely manner with someone with experience and no how to quote correctly.
Also, I see a great opp here if it can pull.
1) 300,000 door hangers are to 100,000 homes (120K+ Avg HH Income) in ONE city.
2) I am promoting to them with a full maintenance service in which they get signed up and pay a monthly fee. If they want a blow n' go type service, they can receive that too but I am heavily promoting the maintenance program/package that is designed for them
3) It is a revenue split as I am almost RENTING the leads out to them. I am seen as the company at the forefront hired by the customers, and the company I contract the work to is the subcontractor who works under my company as the workers. I don't want to sell leads and say goodbye to the clients/leads that I produce for these companies. I want to merely give other companies a lot of work which in turn will benefit me for not having to have the avg. lawn care biz's myriad of headaches when it comes to the labour side of things. I still keep the clients, but I leverage the situation out to making my lawn care businesses to do what they do best.. while I do what I do (overviewing the situation, marketing, etc.).
In an industry that is so flooded with supply (if I had a dollar for every lawn/outdoors care biz..) and scared of rapid growth due to the things they have to do in order to service a client such as buying equipment: I am taking advantage of the opportunity by going for rapid growth and rather then being scared of it I will welcome it by using the MASS SUPPLY in the industry to my advantage by contracting the work out to them.

The "facilitating the calls in a timely manner with an experienced person in the trade" problem is something that I was facing too earlier. However, I have designed a system in place to counter it and make things run smooth. The problem that I see in front of me is not handling the amount of calls, but it is getting EVERY door hanger hung by the distributors.
PS: I already have the 300k door hangers in stock and already have the ability to get 10 distributors easily from testing it out. All I need to do is figure out how to make this door hanger operation run as smoothly as possible.
