This thread will document my process of inventing and creating physical product brands.
I ultimately decided to focus on this subroad due to strong alignment of my natural personality and talents, excitement , and existing knowledge. The aim is to focus on ventures in this subroad category to compound skills and knowledge and experience, which will increase success probabilities until inevitable success through mastery. This comes from an understanding that I am likely to fail multiple times due to poor judgement, which will improve gradually with process.
So here I will document this process, where I will focus on a single product/brand at a time. If one fails I will document it here and will move onto another.
About me:
My name is David, I am 23 yo from England. I joined this forum three years ago after discovering TMF whilst in formal education. I had just started a job which I hated and realised I didn't want to go into the career path I had envisioned for myself since I was a kid. Until this point I had zero belief in FL success, as I was taught that the job career I was pursuing was the pinnacle of success. So I have had to spend a lot of time unfucking my head. I have made several threads displaying this unfucking which make me cringe, but that shows growth so I'm glad. Despite my job focus I have always been entrepreneurial since a kid but until recently never saw its potential as anything more than a side hustle or hobby.
I am green to this, I know there is loads to learn. Exciting yet overwhelming if dwelt on. I will use milestone goals to prevent overwhelming paralysis which is a bad habit I will get rid of. I think starting green is probably the hardest part for me because there is so much to learn and no definite 'list' like in formal education. it's the things I don't know I don't know which trouble me, but I understand they'll only be revealed through doing and most probably failing.
I work a 9-5 for bills and basically work on this whenever else. Besides my family I've sacrificed all other things a normal 23 yo lad would be doing and I'm happy about it. The idea of being normal is not acceptable at all.
Current:
There is a product I have already prototyped and branded effectively, and am looking to launch soon. It is in a small existing market with small monthly sales, but I see great potential to lead and then grow the category if I execute well. There is need for a better product shown from reviews and my own analysis of the existing marketing and branding. The main unknown here is how much the product category market could be grown. my research has shown high interest in similar products generally and evidence that people would want it, but I won't know for certain until I launch and market. If it works though this could be a mint win for my first venture, and if not then I'll learn a lot to do better next time.
I started this last year but then a lot happened which I let halt my progress, so it's half-baked and I need to review all the details. The next thing will be outlining the steps of what needs doing, and probably spending time on this forum absorbing knowledge.
idk how frequently I will update this as I don't want to distract myself. I'll aim to update biweekly even if I haven't made tangible progress in order to display the process effectively.
