I think part of the reason I didn't do it, is that I kept reading it over and I thought; "I don't want this to sound like I'm dissing Scot's efforts" because you had just posted your first attempt. Plus I always underestimate the value I can add, I just thought, this is boring, nobody will want to read this...
Anyways, I genuinely love what you did, and I think you need to sit down and list all the positives that have come from this. Here let me start you off:
1. You now Know what to look for in a partner.
2. You are more confident about going it alone
3. You understand more about the process of filmaking/storytelling and video marketing.
4. You have made some contacts that may be useful to you in the future
5. You understand more about vetting a business opportunity
6. You have probably ruled out quite a few more untenable potential business opps.
I'm sure there are many, many more...

The biggest things I learned though are things that get said here every damn day.
Find a genuine need that helps people.
Talk to your customers and find out what they want.
Actually sell stuff.
