Hello everyone,

I have an idea that I’ve been fleshing out that I think has potential. I’m being intentionally vague, but it would help people make new friends in a unique way. I think there is a strong need for this in the modern world, and I think I’ve come up with a unique solution that would really work. It would be targeted especially to people in their 20s and 30s, especially those who have relocated to a new city or are just looking for new friends for whatever reason.

So far, the biggest hurdle I’m encountering is the cost of acquiring customers compared to how much I think I can charge for this. I’m not sure my concept would have a lot of repeat customers (although there should be some), and it would be targeted at a population in constant flux who specifically don’t have many friends, so I think word-of-mouth might be hard. Of course, it could eventually reach a tipping point where my service becomes known as the go-to thing to do if you want to quickly make friends in a new place, but this would only happen after a lot of people had already used it. I think I could charge around $30 for this service per customer. The TAM is quite large but reaching them might be challenging. I’ve read that CAC using paid ads can be higher per customer than what I’m planning to charge, which would obviously make the concept unsustainable.

Does anyone have any thoughts/tips? Should I just go ahead and make it and see what my real CAC is? I am planning to start with a basic MVP, but even that would take significant time and effort to get running.
