Hello everyone,

I've lurked this forum for several years and and am finally looking to start my journey and start contributing to the forum that has already given me so much. I stumbled across this forum as a teenager and have had an itch burning to build a business since. Despite that constant desire, so far I've followed the script: going to college and working a mundane office job.

I've worked as a software developer the past 5 years, having relatively easy remote jobs the entire time and a comfortable income. Despite the comfort, I've always wanted true stability and control over my life because the anxiety of having an employer in control of my income has always loomed over my head.

At the moment, I've gotten a huge confidence boost from some success in freelance software development and am working on getting a local service business off the ground to start my path to freedom. I'm looking forward to what the future holds.

Thanks everybody,

Parker

Welcome! I'm also a developer with a comfy job (for now) and I'm on a similar path as you.

Good to hear that freelancing is going well for you. How did you find your clients?
