This amazing song landed on my playlist.

From a movie based on Harriet Tubman, who was quite the woman herself. Born into slavery, but established lines
to help her fellows escape and also fought for womens' suffrage.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn19xvfoXvk&list=RDMx_OexsUI2M&index=3

Was shocked to find this song was made and sung by the main actress herself.

Also has many UNSCRIPTED themes...namely the struggle for freedom, finding and bringing up people who were willing to journey with you.

Harriet herself was also UNSCRIPTED as she basically flipped the bird to the preachers of the day who encouraged slaves to just submit and take in the abuses of the masters.

Instead she took courage in tales of deliverance from the Holy Writ even though she was illiterate...which made the rest of her life legendary. Now that's something I wish could happen more often today.

EDIT: Wow so she's also on the $20 bill. Damn.

Well, you already invested the time, and if it works for you both, then that's the only thing that matters. I'm definitely scarred by stuff I've seen, all the examples in my previous post are real events that happened haha
I like SSG's (static site generators) for simple static websites. If I needed something interactive I would use a real website or CMS.

SSG's are generally made *for programmers*, that's why there is at least one for every programing language: Hugo (Golang), Gatsby (JS), Jekyll (Ruby), etc. Their advantages are basically: fast, secure, and programmatic.

Astro is one of the fastest, I think it was designed to deliver perfect Google Lighthouse scores by default.

At some point, I want to generate some websites of statistical data. As my algorithms improve, I will need to recreate the sites programmatically. I plan to have a pipeline that uses an SSG to produce the final website.

I get a lot of cold emails, presumably from people who discover me on LinkedIn. Mostly consultants and freelancers.

They promise “35% gains,” or “12 new customers” or any other super specific metric.

Some offer funding.

Some want to buy my company.

None of them know the details.

They don’t know anything about my industry. They don’t know that 12 more customers would get us approximately 70 percent market share. 2-3 is a business. 4-5 is a real business. 12 and you’re a force in this industry.

Or are we talking 12 baby customers buying drummed material where we make $600 on an order?

I had a funding offer for a $150k loan this morning. What the heck for? I can’t carry 2 trucks of products for net 30 terms with that.

“We’d like to fund a single container of product at a time for you. You’re welcome Kyle.”

The biggest thing that gets me is that they all feel entitled to a response. You don’t just get to insert yourself into my email inbox without knowing anything about what I actually need and expect a response.

If someone said they wanted to fund my orders from Fortune 500 customers at the same rate those customers would get… I’ll listen.

If someone said, “Kyle, it looks like you are connected to these 7 industry players, have you tried with (insert a big player) I have some connections over there and we could maybe get a deal done.” I’d tell them to set up a call.

Don’t tell me you have the magic formula to grow my business by 35% as if I’m just blind to some tweak you have and my business takes to cookie cutter advice like any other business.

You won’t do shit. Your numbers mean nothing. That’s not how this works.

I need cold email folks to actually prove they know something or have something that I don’t. They’re not entitled to a response.

I usually dismiss my fashion critiques as to old age, but I have to agree with my wife on this one.

Reminds me of the post I made on the INSIDERS chat from the cold email that requested I speak...

The TLDR: You won't be paid and you need to use your entire list you built over 15 years to promote my event.

Pass.

Anyone ever marketed their ecommerce business via direct mail adverts? I just got one from a company called Hellomood.com for legal THC. I don't do this stuff. Thought it was interesting.

Might work for a tactic, who knows.

Planning to do some in nearish future.

You can do cold prospecting using interest and demographic based targeting as well as location based.

You can incorporate into Klaviyo flow and send to abandoned carts.

You can data-match a decent percentage of anonymous website visitors and send them a postcard in the mail, even if they don't give you any info.

Nearly every one will see/read your postcard... they will at minimum physically pick it up and touch it. Up to you to mare sure your marketing is on point and has a compelling offer.

Anyone watch Physical 100 on Netflix? If you can get by the highly edited/dramatized Korean style of reality TV, they are incredibly inspiring to watch. The last 2 challenges on Season 2 was like watching human torture. I also love how Koreans are so respectful and honorable to their competitors, unlike arrogant Americans.

I watched a couple of episodes of the first season. The challenges were awesome, but it was so drawn out I had to stop watching after the third episode. But I do love Korean dramas.

Yes, currently watching it, I posted about the 1st season here when it came out, it’s great, inspiring, makes you want to do CrossFit

And yes their manners, honour and respect are so much more pleasant to watch

The second season seems to be edited much better than the first, I imagine based on western feedback

If anyone’s going to watch it, watch it in Korean with subtitles, the voiceovers are not enjoyable to watch

I always look through my change for old silver quarters or dimes. Very rare to find them these days but 10 years ago I would find them. You could immediately tell by the edge of the coin and of course the date.

It's easy to find star note bills in circulation. I stash them when I find them.

It takes a really long time to sort through change and bills and find the really valuable stuff. I have better things to do. LOL

I'm addicted to it... There's something weird about watching others exercise to their absolute limit... It makes me want to go hard at the gym as well.

But it's hard to get past the triple-reaction editing lol

I also think it's a cool experiment because it doesn't care about PED (juicing).

I'm 90% confident that the guy who won season 2 is on steroids. But that doesn't lower his achievement!

I never thought I’d encounter a Mobile Dog Gym business in my life.

People don’t even go to the gym themselves but then they pay for a MOBILE gym for their dog when they can just throw them in the yard instead.

This is inspiring because it means that there’s so much money out there that people are ready to spend. F*ck dropshipping, start a mobile dog gym.

They need to make 2 of them, one for women and one for men. With both genders, a woman could never win as it is currently structured because too many quests are strength based, it is distracting to the entire concept, not to mention, horribly unfair for the female competitors. I'd love to see the ladies compete against each other which would be just as, if not more, entertaining/inspiring.

Does Google/YT really demonetize people's videos because they violate a YT rule, and then continue to run ads and keep 100% of the money? If so, isn't that theft? I thought YT didn't run *any* ads when they demonetized a video, so they could say they YT wasn't profiting from some "offensive" content.

That is a new one. Can't someone let their dog run off the leash outside and have their owners spend time with them?

Yeah it was insane to see only 3 make the top 50 of the first challenge. I know there's a huge difference between men and women strength wise but male bodybuilders beating olympic athlete women in running shows how insane the difference is, plus as mentioned by someone above, a lot of these guys are on PED's, even the strength difference between a man on a light dose and a regular man is huge, let alone a women.

I haven't finished the second season but the first season was even more frustrating in this respect, probably for the opposite reason, so maybe they corrected it this season

For example they had a challenge that was weighted based on your weight

And they eliminated most of the strongest people because they had to hold such heavy weights

And let a bunch of light women through easy because they only had to hold light weights

Most of the competitions in the first season felt like this, they all felt like they eliminated the wrong people.

At least this season so far from what I've seen is doing a good job of keeping the strongest and fittest in the game

sometimes I discover something rising my motivation. Here is something Alex Becker wrote:

F&$K whatever the world does. Here's how to win (and bank) no matter what.

NO MATTER HAPPENS, the "world" that appears to be "changing" is actually just....other people.

So to win. Be better and gudder that other people. Outwork, Outlearn, Outskill/experience/Out prepare them. At this point...

It doesn't matter WHAT the climate of the world is, you are still 10x the predator/athelete in the arena. You will be better equipped and you will win.

The world doesn't "change" and happen to you. You simply fall behind a % of the other 8 billion players in the game.

Just...Don't...Do that.

It's not hard to be better. Just try really hard.

It's more fun to be better. Its more fun to try. You win more, you lose less, you stay on top. There are no downsides to being a cringe level boyscout try hard in terms of success. Just endless benefits.

Counter anything the world does with awareness and trying.

Lets get to it gents. Leave a like if you enjoy this kinda content, I'll make more.

Someone create a tough mudder style thing of physical 100

People would pay to compete in that

Would be so cool

Set all the games up and let people from different sports compete in them

Have an actual winner of best physical 100 body in each city

Pauline Hanson has finally made it to the fastlane forum

All jokes aside, this whole esafety commissioner thing is unbelievable. How is this happening

Australia is not really the land of the free anymore, it's the land of the overregulated.

There's a law or regulation for dam near everything these days, and Victoria is the worst for it.

It doesn't surprise me at all.

I'd pay to see that lol

But I wonder if people would control themselves if it was like the challenge where they fight for the ball... In Brazil people would start throwing punches very fast.

But pushing sacks of sand on a mine cart... That's kinda cool to see

The parasocial agency is a recent and phenomenal marketing strategy. Usually, it's in a leading video with narration, then someone doing a task alongside it. This tactic of marketing is excellent for short-form content retention. I've used it, and it's given back great success for going viral. Does anyone use this/ have any views on this? It can feel like brain rot at a point.
