Selling my own supplements - How do I start?

Hey guys!

I noticed a need ever since I've started working in my industry. So, the other day I got the idea to sell a supplement fixing it. But bloody hell, where do I even get started?

Handling physical products has always been intimidating to be but I'm tired of action faking and bullshiting. I'm excited to do something new, but I want to do it properly this time.

The supplement would be marketed towards a specific profession (which is still millions of people worldwide) so there definitely is an audience. I've seen plenty of these "private label" manufacturers as well as this company "Supliful" which makes it all look extra easy (which is both appealing and unappealing).

The ability to customize the recipe to a degree (I "think" I know what I want) is very important. I don't want to be selling placebo pills and scamming people. My goal for this is to improve health in this profession.

Here are my questions:

1. If I'm to try and presell this first, how will I present a product if I don't have a contract with a manufacturer yet, if you know what I mean?
2. Will creating an fb/ig ad leading to a presell page be a waste of money if I have little to no following?
3. Whoever tried this already - what would be the do's and don'ts of this path I'm taking.

If you want to pre-sale, you can contact suppliers and get quotes very easily.
You will have do the packaging and test the formula before anything.

I started with Supliful but decided to have my own products instead. Their products are average in dosage and quality, nothing amazing, and the costs are high. So you either have to brand generic products as premium, or source actually premium products.

Basically, established brands sell products at a price that's around your Supliful cost. You can fake your way to "this is better", but in reality it's not.

Take energy powders for an example, they cost about $20 and are at the bottom tier compared to popular pre-workouts. You would have to sell them for at least $35, ideally, $40+, but that's the same price as stuff from C4, Redcon, Ryes, etc.

They are rubbish compared to something like Ghost or Gorilla Mind.
