Starting Management/IT consulting company

Hey Dear Fastlaners,

There's this idea growing strongly in my head, to kick off a consulting firm that would focus on management, general IT and project management,

I have an experience in all of the fields+ constantly learning to expand my skills,

I'd start on my own then hire people with similar experience,

Is there anyone on the forum who went similar path, or has a consulting firm?

How did you get your first customers/ what is your start up experience?

Hi Michal. I work in the IT service/solution space. I started on my own back in 2015. The requests came while I was working a W2. So my initial start happened through word of mouth by business owners of media companies and Hollywood music composers. Things I worked on were data center, networking, wireless, voip, data recovery, firewall, studio software installation etc...

I grew the company via Yelp and using a staffing company like Robert Half Technology and I forget the name of the other. Through RHT I would get various IT projects to work on like network installs & cyber security response to things like voip toll fraud. I would hire people I had already known for sometime to help me. CS students and a family friend who I helped break into the IT space.

In the past few years I've added in RPA & intelligent automation into the mix of solutions I offer.

Thank you for sharing @Gypsy Soul, really appreciate it. I'm located in Europe- Poland and I don't have a specific industry target. My general idea is to help any company improve the things they struggle with on IT/ Management or projects side. I'm working for a manufacturing company right now as a FTE.
