Just joined the thread about a month ago, figured I'd publicly post my plan and progress here that will unshackle me from a lifetime servitude in the "cube" and will eventually bootstrap my own business to have freedom of time, and the money to live the comfortable lifestyle that I want....
(1) Landed a sales job at a startup company earning about $50K per year plus uncapped commission, the plan here is to excel, sell lots of units and make commission, save that money. BUT the real process is to learn how to sell and how to build a business from the ground up, which will come in handy when I'm ready to start my own business (i.e. When I have enough savings to cushion a potential failure and when I have a business idea worth going all-in for)
(2) Building a website in my spare time that I will put about 8-10 hours per week into, using the affiliate model selling products in the health and fitness industry. Eventually I'll want to outsource content, grow the audience, and sell my own products. I'll do this for a year, see where I'm at, then keep building to eventually sell (or abandon the project)
I have about $64,000 in law school debt that I want to eliminate as quickly as possible, hence the building of the website.
What are your thoughts, suggestions, and comments?
