Once again today, ameritrade has proven that their website cannot handle trading the day major news hits the market. For the past 2 years, the norm has become, big news comes out, tdameritrade goes down. It is about 2-3 days a year on key trading days.
I say all this to tell you, that I contacted them on their site and said the same thing I said above. Their response? 20 free equity trades.
I am not recommending trying to get something for nothing from a business, but if you are an active trader with Ameritrade, and could not access your accounts today, contact them. 20 free equity trades should last me about 3-4 months since I mostly trade options.
