The future of the fastlane

I'm not saying that I'm worried but I am worried.

Nowadays I see countless of articles, posts about the big future companies.
Many entrepreneurs are saying that the future is in space/biotech/robotics/ubicomp/nui/energy.
Whenever I see those my enthusiasm decreases towards making a business.
As you can see all those companies need a lot of capital/knowledge in order to succeed.
I'm not sure if I have enough knowledge to make a space elevator for example...
