- Sounds good seeing if you can get opt ins with your Facebook ads but I wouldn't let that deter you from building something if you have little success.
Get some early adopters on your website and continue to pivot until it turns into a product customers want.
Many companies start as something, learn their service isn't fulfilling a need in the market, but in the process through customer feedback find out what does and rebuild until they have something that does fulfill a need.
- Small details like hosting. I wouldn't think too hard about it. Get something going, make mistakes learn by doing.
- I interviewed roughly ten developers off guru for a project both overseas and in the US, while I didn't go with any and went with somebody I knew in New York, I at least got an idea on what to expect the cost of creating an MVP would be.
I'd also pay more for a US dev team, but that could be just me. I've read a lot about off shore teams writing sloppy code for complex projects, and being cheaper per hour but quoting many more hours so the price isn't too different when the project is complete. Anyone I've spoken to in person who has outsourced dev to India has always mentioned that you get what you ask for and nothing more. Meaning, adjusting things along the way or putting anything more than minimal creative/thoughtful effort into the project doesn't happen. That said for a basic MVP to test your ideas that may not matter much and you gotta do what fits the budget.
Good luck
