Good morning,
I'm glad to be here with so many souls that are willing to quit the "rat race" - or be involved in it, but from a different perspective. ; )
I came here to get myself around people that have a similar goal. I hope I'll find here some friends and good energy. ; )
When it comes to my history...
1. Youth Full of Hope!
As a young guy I was IGNORAT as hell.
I thought that somehow I'll manage to live like a king.
I did not have a plan.
I did not think about my future.
2. Hello Reality!
And then life kicked my butt.
No living as a king.
Mediocracy at full power.
Earning pennies, realizing that life is not a fairy tale...
3. Yes, I am a moron...
One day I realized that I made a huge mistake in my life.
I realized that I was on a ship, having a looong nap and not touching the steering wheel.
And that ship was, for years, going where the wind blew...
Once north, once south, once east, once west.
It came to me that I was a moron.
4. Rebellion
Seeing no hope I started meditating about life...
I was researching the internet and I found some nice people (Brian Tracy, Tony Robbins).
These guys gave me some hope, them made me realize that I'm responsible for my life and that I can change it.
And that was the end of being a moron.
5. Some success, but...
I changed my approach, I dropped out of college (I had a BA degree, I dropped out doing the MA)
I founded my small company, I worked my a$$ off, I started learning programming on my own.
Things began to change, I started to see hope.
My parents, my girlfriend - they did not quite understand what I was doing, especially dropping out and changing branch/trade.
I wanted to be a translator, I studied english (got a BA, was working on MA), but I suddenly opened my own business and I was working on IT and Internet Marketing - they couldn't handle it.
6. Still in a Rat Race
Years have passed, my business failed.
I learned from it a lot, I got good skills as a programmer.
I was hired as a self-tought programmer to one company,
Then to another,
and another,
and another,
and here I am,
a senior software developer who got a bit lost.
The salary is great, but...
It is a freaking salary!
I did not decide to learn programming to be a programmer in the beginning.
I learnt programming because I wanted to create apps, services, websites. I think it was 2012 when I made that decision.
It was 8 years ago! A lot of time has passed.
7. Future?
I'm tired of exchanging my life for money.
I decided I'm getting back to the business.
I'm still working as a Software Developer now, but I'm planning to quit it.
I signed a contract for writing an IT book (a book about learning to code).
About 2 years ago I also started working on a game for Android.
The plan is to work on SCALE.
Selling books.
Selling apps.
Making tutorials/courses about programming.
And looking for other opportunities - because programming is just a thing I can begin with.
And that's my story.
Don't wish me luck!
Wish me energy! 😀
