One month update:
The ball is rolling a little better but hasn't picked up much speed. Since inception of this business model, I have managed to go from not knowing the first thing about selling on amazon or amazon fba to sourcing, purchasing and importing my own products to sell on amazon. In my first month, my total sales for my PL products is approximately $60 which isn't that bad if you consider that my products are my own branded products and that I really didn't get my first real sales until I sent them FBA approximately 7-10 days ago. I spent approximately $6 in amazon ppc to generate the sales on amazon. My other items I am selling and fulfilling myself have grossed around $255. The approximate total for my items on amazon including my self fulfillment items is $315.
But I didn't limit myself to only amazon. I started selling on ebay again as well. Yes I know, some people say master one before tackling the other but I wanted to test the waters. I have sold on ebay in the past so I had a good understanding of how to get the products listed. With ebay, I just followed basically the same blueprint for selling on amazon. Good products, good copy, lots of pictures. I started selling again on ebay last week and sold one of my PL products which was good but the PL products are hard to move in the beginning. So, I started doing arbitrage on ebay as well. To make a long story short, I sold 3 products I had sitting around my home for nearly $200.00, putting my monthly total of online sales to a little over $500.00.
So seeing that I can make a decent buck with little capital investment and some time, I am going to begin sourcing more products to get listed with amazon and ebay. I am leaning on sourcing at least 5 more items to go with my other items. I think I will look linear for more products instead of staying in the same niche. Maybe one or two more items in the same niche but focus on other markets as well. Christmas is coming up so need to get cracking.
