Dear Fastlaner,
If you want to learn how to write viral hooks that suck people into consuming your articles, videos, emails, ads, and even sales pitches like a vacuum cleaner on steroids...
Then get a napkin, this article is gonna make you salivate.
Why?
Because I’m about to share my secret weapon — the one thing I personally use to write killer hooks for both my clients and myself.
And not only will more people consume your content…
- You’ll also become better at communicating, making you more persuasive in business, sales, and life…
- You’ll gain the power to command the attention of the masses, helping you go from “just another business owner” to becoming the ultimate authority in your niche…
- Because you’ll be more persuasive, it’ll be easier for you to get into contact with other high-level business owners.
But before I dive deeper, pay close attention to the following:
I spent over three years analyzing the top viral content ever created.
Stuff like YouTube videos, news articles, sales letters… the whole sha-bang.
I had to go through the pain of watching videos of exploding watermelons... adult men acting like 14-year-olds... and women with unnatural hair colors unleashing their anger by screaming at Volcanoes.
Although I didn’t count...
I Probably Lost 540.000
Brain Cells Doing This!
Brain Cells Doing This!
But hey, I did it so you don’t have to.
(mention me in your prayers tonight, will ya?)
Now, if I ask you, “What is a hook?”...
You’d probably answer:
“A hook captures the attention of the right people, and gets them to consume your content”
This is WRONG.
That happens AFTER a hook is successful.
Here’s The True Definition Of A Hook...
"A sentence that plants questions in the reader’s mind—questions they can’t answer themselves—creating an irresistible urge to keep reading (or watching) to uncover the answers."
See:
The human brain hates it when questions go unanswered.
That’s why sometimes at night, we lay awake staring at the ceiling repeating certain thoughts over and over again.
And when you create a good hook, your audience will do the same.
Heck, they’ll pause their favorite Netflix series... while forcing their spouse to leave the room…. so they can read in peace.
But… how do you create such hooks?
I’ll show some examples in a minute...
But first, let’s take a look at...
The 4C’s To Creating
Killer Viral Hooks…
Guaranteed!
Killer Viral Hooks…
Guaranteed!
I’ve discovered that the best hooks ALWAYS contain at least ONE of the following 4 characteristics:
- It spikes curiosity.
- It creates contrast.
- It contains controversy.
- It creates conflict.
But that’s not all.
There are two categories of hooks:
Category #1) Indirect hooks.
Category #2) Targeted hooks.
What’s the difference?
Indirect hooks attract everybody, no matter who they are.
However, targeted hooks only focus on attracting people within a niche.
Lemme explain…
I Once Wrote A Story
About How I Got Harassed
By A Drunk Man In Mexico!
...and the marketing lesson I learned from it.About How I Got Harassed
By A Drunk Man In Mexico!
If I were to send it as an email to my newsletter (which I did), I would choose an indirect hook as the subject line…
…because all my newsletter subscribers are business owners who wanna learn marketing, so I don’t need to filter.
Here’s the indirect hook I used as the subject line:
“European gets harassed in Mexico”
BUT… when I posted the same story as an article on the internet, I used a target hook instead, which was:
“What a Drunk Man in Mexico Can Teach You About Marketing”
Now, when it comes to the 4 characteristics…
The indirect hook contained curiosity and conflict... and... the target version contained curiosity and contrast.
Nonetheless, both of these created multiple questions in your mind, and now you want to read the story.
Make total sense, right?
So to recap what you just learned...
You now know how to:
- Write killer hooks using the 4C’s formula.
- The two categories of hooks.
Hope you found this article valuable.

Michael
