Life isn't black and white.
I get your point about laziness, but tragic events happen to people daily.
Some people take up drugs/smoking/gambling to take their mind off the painful reality of their life.
For example, I know of a guy from highschool who killed himself by swallowing pills.
He seemed like another reckless kid.
Until we found out about his abusive parents.
I also know of a guy from Bangladesh who is a taxi driver and drinks on the weekends.
Instead of becoming an entrepreneur.
He has to drive around in a taxi all day to earn enough money to take care of his family in India. He had dreams as a child, but the reality was that his family were in poverty and he had to act quickly by immigrating through *unique* means and then becoming a taxi driver.
Life isn't fair. There are babies being born right now, who will die in the next 2 minutes because they don't have proper nourishment.
There are people who are born with weird genetic disease that hinders them from performing basic functions.
There's an entrepreneur called DJ MeDarco who is on his 22nd business attempt and is ready to throw in the towel because his FTE resulted in losing his parents' retirement savings.
At the end of the day, people do what they can to survive. Some people are content "being 9-5 slaves", because at least they get the necessities of life (which our ancestors would literally kill each other for).
Everything beyond that is luxury.
