What do you guys think about Mark Tilbury? (youtuber)

I watched the first half of the video.

It seems weird to me that he doesn't start by explaining that business is about fulfilling a need/want, and that it's not about what YOU want.

Instead, he starts by saying there's lots of lies out there about how easy it is to start a business, but that most fail. Sure, I agree with this part, business is a problem solving exercise.

How can replacing friends be his second tip? Oh, so you join his free Discord server that has 30,000 other like-minded (lost?) people also trying to start a business. Call me cynical but this smacks of him isolating you from your current friends and family and joining in his community where you'll be shown the true way.

I think @Lex DeVille mentioned somewhere how cults are formed, and part of it is to get you isolated from your current network (I'm paraphrasing but this happened to a fellow forum member and friend).

Anyway. That was enough alarm bells for me.

Funny how slick editing and production is also becoming an alarm bell for me too.

I overlooked that part but I am pretty sure he mentioned that in one of his videos. Although it was just a short segment.

I took it in a more positive way. Similar to what @MJ DeMarco said about cutting the headwinds from our life, and providing another 'medium' to meet like minded people, just like this forum (although I may be wrong, cause I havent joined the discord, and probably never will)


Also another red flag that I found was that he says that investing in stocks is one of the easiest ways to get rich quick. But he himself owns multiple businesses and got rich that way. lol.
