The Millionaire Fastlane has been a great read and instrumental book for me. It showed me that there was another way.
You see, I'm a 25-year-old mechanical engineer (yes, a "slowlaner") who has been stockpiling savings, index funds, and 401k's... so that I could retire early. TMF was a good wake up call for me. It showed that no matter how many raises I get, I'm just not gonna be rich working for someone else no matter WHAT I invest in! Because that's just the way math works!
Stagnation scares me. When I look around at the yellow nicotine-stained cubicle walls (they haven't been replaced since drafters were given a drawing table and an ashtray), I see a future version of me with the same glazed-over look in my eyes that my coworkers have. Hoping I don't get laid off. Holding out for retirement. Hoping I can enjoy at least a few years of it before I die. So it goes.
But, I realize that doesn't have to be my future. I am thankful for where I am right now. I'm in a good position to learn and take calculated risks. My job isn't too demanding (hooray work-life balance, I guess) and I have some capital I can play around with (hooray saving for retirement, I guess). Also, I am thankful for resources like this community.

1. Complete the copy writing 30 day challenge
2. Double the monthly income from the website I bought (I bought a cheap website via Warrior Forums to get a feel for what skills a successful website needs)
3. Earn enough monthly income to quit my job
