Hello everyone!
Are there any here who have worked in a consulting firm from the Big3 (Bain, BCG, McKinsey)?
I may have said something seditious on the entrepreneurs' forum about working for someone XD, but I have my own logic here.
If you are interested, here is what it is:
1. Working in a consulting company will help me structure the knowledge I gained both at university and during my attempts, plus it will give me an understanding of how different companies work, which in turn will help me in my own business and in assessing the investment attractiveness of others
2. Networking, networking and networking. Knowing different people, you have a base of potential partners or candidates for high positions in your own company.
3. Well, anything can happen, with experience in a consulting firm, I think I can find a job in any company on Earth if something in my endeavors goes wrong (I will try until the very end, but when there is a family in the future for which I need to be responsible, there is no time for maximalism)
In this regard, I have a couple of questions.
I have already conducted a small study on how companies hire yesterday's graduates (a logic test, which by the way gives a lot to think about, and a case interview), but I would like to ask people who either worked in such companies or are still working:
1. Is there some kind of database in which I can dig up old test assignments? (I found three practice tests at McKinsey, but this is not enough for practice and preparation, I would like to solve more problems)
2. How much do students who do not have serious work experience differ from students who do have it for a recruiter?
Why am I asking this, I have applied for internships several times, and several times I received a negative answer. In this case, am I being considered as an employee, or as a student? This is a big difference, because if I am being considered as an employee with experience, then I will need to prepare even more for admission, since I am actually competing with people who have more experience than me.
I will be very grateful for answers and will also be happy to answer all questions. Maybe this will also help someone in their career
P.S. I know about the wild overtime in these companies, maybe in other places the salary is higher, but I want fundamental knowledge, and some protection of my skills and financial status in the future
