    The Business Idea Thread

    IDEA
Another experienced member posted this idea a while back. Bankruptcy lawyer aggregation Start a national service for people going through bankruptcy to call a lawyer for immediate help. Secure 1000 lawyers across the country for $1,000 a month. This brings in $1,000,000 a month. Spend...

How hard is it to move a business?

Hi, I am based in CA and own an online business. I was originally planning on moving to NV in a couple months where I would then be able to incorporate, but now it doesn't look like that will be feasible. I may have to stay in CA for another year or so. I was wondering what happens if I...

Hi, Does anyone know a good merchant account provider (or other payment processor) that will take on accounts in a high risk industry or higher than average chargeback rate? Thanks

    A good call center

I need a good call center to take a relatively small amount of orders, handle customer questions and complaints, and issue refunds. All answers/scripts provided by me. Can someone recommend a good service?

Who has joined a business related group on Meetup.com?

I am thinking of joining a couple groups related to business on the meetup.com website (quite a few of them are around since I'm in the LA area, some with 200+ members) If any of your guys have been to one of these meetings, do you feel it was productive, or more of a salesy/motivational type of...

Telemarketing: Try to sell on the phone or leave an offer?

    MARKETING
No offense taken, I'm asking for an online resource because I need one in order to look this info up for all markets that are not local (which is the vast majority of them) The local chamber of commerce has very limited use to me.

Telemarketing: Try to sell on the phone or leave an offer?

    MARKETING
For just a general list of dentists I could even use the yellowpages. What I'd love to get ahold of is an online resource for new dental offices. because they are the dentists who could really use my service (ie my true target market)

Telemarketing: Try to sell on the phone or leave an offer?

    MARKETING
I like the idea about calling during off hours, sounds like a great way to get to the boss. I will probably do that as well as leave some sort of message with the secretary during business hours (since I have so many dentists to market to) Is there a way to get that list of new businesses...

Telemarketing: Try to sell on the phone or leave an offer?

    MARKETING
I am starting a business that generates leads for dentists via local search results. The website is almost done and I will soon hire a guy to telemarket my offer of 5 free leads with no obligations. I know that lead generation is a tough business so I will be very clear that I am not expecting...

Any clever ideas for finding a competitior's supplier?

    IDEA
I think this thread has run its course. The last thing I will say is that I didn't start this thread with the intention of "finding the easy way" but rather to gain a competitive advantage. Maybe the ethics of my package idea are poor, I'm not sure, but I probably won't be trying it.

Any clever ideas for finding a competitior's supplier?

    IDEA
I was thinking of leaving a plain damaged box outside their office with a note from a generic "delivery service" mentioning that the box was damaged in transit and the return address label was sheared off. In order for the service to investigate the claim, they would need the sender's address...

Any clever ideas for finding a competitior's supplier?

    IDEA
I'm in one of the few niches where manufacturers downplay the brand labeling (hookah) Besides that I am after the wholesale source

Any clever ideas for finding a competitior's supplier?

    IDEA
I have a competitor with a good supplier (from the prices) that I would like to find out. Do you guys have any techniques you use in such a situation?

Going straight to the manufacturer for the cheapest price

    WEB/DIGITAL
I know someone at my school who started an e-commerce business from scratch. His story was remarkably simple: After selling his niche products on ebay and amazon for a while, he tried contacting the manufacturers directly and buying directly. He started a website, which looks like a generic...

    Value of Business Meetings

Do you guys think that business meetings are worth attending for people who are not already successful? I am sure there will be successful business people there but I have a feeling they aren't looking to network with people who are not established yet.

How to get past the receptionist?

Hi all, I am starting a B2B service that generates leads for professionals such as dentists, lawyers, accountants etc. I'll make a post with all the details after things get running, but the nutshell is that I convert local traffic searching for these business and list my phone numbers (and...

Idea: Localize the prosper.com aggregation service

    IDEA
Some of the biggest businesses online are nothing more than a meeting place for customers. For example, Prosper.com brings together creditors and debtors. I am thinking about taking a concept like this and localizing it. I imagine a localized site would have the advantage of not requiring...

Is anyone in the import/export field?

I'm thinking about getting into the import/export business. Just brainstorming ideas now but I'm thinking along the lines of generic items that could be used in place of expensive brand items (ex. printer cartridges) or imported items with high perceived value (clothes, watches, car parts) I...

Poker: How you can get started, succeed, and many myths and facts

    HOT!
Re: Poker: How you can get started, succeed, and many myths and f If this is your experience fair enough, but I would expect someone playing that amount of tables to have their edge severely reduced (not just from suboptimal play but also lack of table selection) Playing 24 tables sounds like...
