LOL at all the NaCl in here.

90% of you can't even rent a 458 for a day, and Tai writes it off as an expense. All this shade throwing, and the one thread analyzing his marketing strategy gets buried, however obvious and mundane it comes out.

You can get better and far more practical business advice from Gary Vaynerchuk for Free.

I'd much rather listen to someone who gives his advice away for nothing because he's already making money from his own businesses and investments, as opposed to someone who seems to make the majority of his money from selling his '$1000 business course'.

Also to the point made earlier, nobody is questioning Tai's marketing abilities or his ability to execute. It's his intent that is being questioned.

To reference Gary Vee again - "How you make your money is more important than how much you make."

I am guessing he profits from all those youtube videos, affiliate marketing (books, products etc), his ebooks, online programs. He is does what MJ said make a product that impacts millions and he got it out to the public and he is cashflowing from it, whatever he does his lifestyle is badass. Real chill lifestyle and has his friends with him at all times.

That's part of what he does, he also provides access to a large market segment to his advertisters.

Just curious, how much would you say Tai makes a month? From all sources -- profit? $500,000-$1,000,000 a month?

1. More than haters think
2. Less than he says

I skimmed over but Tai Lopez is a fraud and a con-man. He deleted the video where someone found his ferrari is a rental and the key still had rental tags on them. He obviously has connections but he's a fraud.

Not just rental cars. The houses are on the property market and don't actually belong to him. He talks about a lifestyle he doesn't have. Its all part of the show to increase his credibility and the saddest part is that people buy into that. We have a guy on YouTube (Germany) who has adopted the same model as Tai and it works for him in the same way. He is 17 and flashes a second hand Lamborghini (30k), designer clothing and talks about his millionaire lifestyle. He sells some kind of online business course too. So to the salty guy above (@grind). Everyone can do it and its pretty easy. The question is how low do you want to go with your life and most people on here would rather be poor and have morals than pretending to be someone they are not. The fast lane isn't just about making it big but a lot of it is also about finding self-actualization.

Admins, please make this thread to not appear on my thread-list anymore. I'm about to puke every time it appears. Can't believe people here are giving Tai Lopez so much "attention".

I'm pretty certain that sometime in the future he will be exposed as a scammer or up to no good. My bullshit meter reads high on him. If I were a gambler, I would bet against this guy. My intuition is well formed by now.

I'm not going to waste my time explaining in detail why I think so, but based on the value of everything he shows off online, I would say its VERY expensive to be living his life and UNSUSTAINABLE. He's definitely in the hundreds of thousands per month. My calculation is based on the size of his house, the cars he owns, and the heavy advertising he's been doing lately, plus whatever costs he incurs to run his business. From my own experience, most wealthy people spend more money on their business than they do on themselves, its just how things work. For every dollar he spends on himself, he must spend 2 or 3 dollars MINIMUM on his business.

I will tell you this though, I am impressed by his advertising BLITZ. I've been in the self help community for all of my adult life, and some of my teenage life and I've never heard of this guy up until about 1 year ago. I'm curious to know how he manages to fund his appearances on TV and LONG Youtube commercials. There's no way he can have so much money so fast doing what he says he's been doing. Rarely are good businessmen this pompous.

His youtube commercials get played no matter what subject I'm viewing. Plus his commercials are long, which means he is getting charged each time a viewer watches more than 30 seconds. I wonder what his ROI would be on all his advertising. I guess he must have access to a large pool of money and is doing an full blitz to multiply as much money as he can as fast as he can; a scam I've seen happen before. From what I've heard him say so far, most of what he says is fluff with very little substance. There's very little value in his advice; advice you get from any drunk person at a bar.

I'm curious to see how this plays out.

In Your Newsfeed
How you do anything is how you do everything.

If you want to give your money to people who are shady, that's on you. A lot of people do it. Not just Tai. There are lots of Tais in the world. There are lots of people way worse than Tai in the world, too.

In the scheme of things, Tai isn't as bad as, say, Madoff or Jordan Belfort.

But you have to be careful what you put into your brain. Put Tai in, and Tai comes out. I don't want to be like Tai. Why would I emulate him? Why would I listen to him?

Or maybe your point is that I should be like Tai. Why? Just because he has money?

I wouldn't swap with Tai for all the money in the world.

I stopped following Tai a few weeks back when he flooded my FB newsfeed with live events from his Beverly Hills mansion.

To be honest, I prefer humble people who are successful. You don't see Michael Jordan showing off his Lambo(s) and he kicks everyone's a$$ in sport and business.

My tip for newbies in this game is to follow the right people and unfollow the rest. I learnt that the hard way over 5 years.

I've watched a boat load of his videos, start to finish, and while he does come across like somewhat of a douche bag who rehashes stuff over and over again, it's clear to see that there's a very smart man beneath it all.

Whether or not he's a guy to look up to........that depends on your personal character and who you want to be at the end of the day when the lights go off.

Found this guy today, seemed very strange. And while I agree this smells a bit bad he does have a couple of books videos that seem nice to watch.

He has been smashing FB Ads the last few weeks.

The comments section on the Ads make for interesting reading in regards to assessing how his message is resonating.

Hey,

Here's a few rough answers to your questions:

WTF does he do?

I'm not entirely sure how he got to the point that he's at now (for example, what business he used to run etc.) however, with that being said, he's a mentor and now gets to meet people like Mark Cuban (hence why he advises you to read books and gives 'lectures') who you can actually hire for an hour for around 10,000$.

Is he just some kind of self-styled success guru or does he have a real business?

As far as i'm aware, his 'real' business is him being a mentor, his YouTube videos (which he gets paid for, obviously) and his pages on social networks across the internet. I'm sure he has his hands in other businesses, helping out or building (or even buying shares and being in a partnership).

Is he trying to be the next Warren Buffet? The next Brian Tracy?

He is seeing fame, he has success and he loves being a mentor. I think he has every right to advise people (if they want to listen). I don't think he's up their with Warren Buffet just yet but hey-. I think he'll get close eventually.

LOL.

"meeting people like mark cuban "

Calling Mark :" hi man, my company bought like 500,000,000 youtuabe ads, wanna come over, say a few things, and that way we push your book and get you some more views " (notice that mark's book is in the front in their interview")

Mark : " sure..do I have to pay anything "

Tai : "nope, free advertising"

who'll say no to that ?

I believe I worded that wrongly, I get how he got Mark Cuban to do a interview etc however I meant I don't know his background (such as what businesses he had first and how he came to afford his supercars and properties).

Tai is the top guy to learn from on social right now.

A master at creating engagement.

Notice the tenor of his videos, (even in his courses if anyone bothered to take em...) he always asks questions at the end.

Why? Engagement. Once 1 or 2 people start replying, it spirals into a whirlwind. Now you feel 'involved' and eagerly await the next video.

Now you feel like you're 'growing' ALONG with Tai, exploring together.

Dude is a master if folks only see it.

  • He put his money where his mouth is: paid traffic
  • Made the most unforgettable 'hero story' in history: "Here in my Garage" will never be forgotten
  • He's polarizing (anything memorable tends to be so)
  • He's engaging you (explained above)
  • He makes you a brainless offer (sign up to my list where I'll send you summaries on books I'm reading)
  • He makes you a brainless paid offer (hey, just pay $67 bucks to get the 67 tips I learned from my mentors)
  • He makes this offer after you've watched his 30 min podcasts/youtubes/live calls
  • He lets you know "dude it's just a dollar a step, how much would you pay for one idea that changes your life?" <-- price anchors that against what 1 idea in a 12 dollar book can do for your life.
Lets go a bit further.

Notice how it's not anything new?

How many folks own Lamborghinis?
How many folks have mentors?
How many people write good notes on books they read?
How many people make 'self help' videos?
How many people create courses?
How many people use paid traffic?
How many people podcast?
How many marketers use polarization?
How many people use the "7" at the end of the price trick?

But how many people are Tai Lopez?

Bang.

Old thread but Tai Lopez made money off of fraudulent pathetic attempts at creating dating sites. That is literally all he did before he started all the rental-lambo scamming. He says all the typical guru stuff... so I guess if you don't know that then you might get something out of his channel. But he doesn't say anything you don't get from just reading this forum. He also says alot of ridiculous stuff in a pathetic attempt to sound wise eg trying to absorb the knowledge from books by lightly skimming them/reading the first page of the chapter/just having them near you LOL. I hope I see him irl someday so I can roast him publicly

But he doesn't say anything you don't get from just reading this forum.

This is true.

But now I have to sit and search and open 10 tabs at a time and grind through 100's of posts to find the 1 major insight that I'm searching for (I've done that before, sometimes there's no substitute)

-- and if I don't find it, now I have to start a thread and wait for replies (ew waiting)

-- and if I start the thread off on the wrong foot, I will be chastized and lambasted by the forum's veterans and other masters in the art of keyboard-fu.. (happens on any forum) Besides, who wants to get beat up in front of an audience?

-- or my thread may not piss anyone off, but it may be unclear -- I wake up after heading to bed after posting the thread (praying to the forum gods that I have 10 replies in the morning) .... instead I get 1 reply asking for CLARIFICATION on what I meant before he can give a proper comment. LOL

or if not that, my post will waste away on page 2 after a week of no activity.

See how much stress lies in that process? How much potential pain?

People want to avoid pain (talkin about normal people ok).

Let's try it another way.

Guy searches for whatever....and he sees a VIDEO *cue angelic music*

He sees what he searched for in the video's title

He looks at the thumbnail and it catches his curiosity

He clicks in, sees the person and 'identifies' with him (either how he looks, sounds, acts, his surroundings, or even more esoterically -- identifies that guy as what he'd LIKE to be) however you slice it, he's hooked.

THEN comes the actual content.

Hopefully you already created a series of 'yes's such that when his eyes glance and sees your offer in the description box or in the actual video -- or annotation...small offer..email in exchange for some cool stuff sent to your email...it's all a blur, but now you're getting emails from this guy.

All of that happens in an instant.

Marketing is a race for eyeballs.

Sometimes all you're selling is personality. (since there's nothing new under the sun) most of the time we're buying the man or woman on the screen, not really the info. (Liking Bias) (This is how mass media has had everyone into a stupor for decades...no matter WHAT channel you watch)
