Looking back into my previous business endeavors, it actually is not my #1. During and after I finished Bachelors in Physics and dropped out 2 weeks before finishing my Masters in Computer Science, I always had this idea in my mind - "Build the system which gonna bring money on its own". And some of them did, but not nearly profitable enough and not for a long time. And some of them had to be stopped because they have been too dangerous to continue(grey areas), I just couldn't sleep well. So let's call this one #1 for the sake of unbiased experiment & nice naming ;-)
Long story short, experience extracted, jumping to right this very moment: What do we have?
1. Early 30s, feeling young, healthy and energized. Lucky or on purpose I got myself a set of nice habits (healthy eating, lots of exercise, meditation and system of beliefs, little time wasting) to achieve the goal of financial freedom.
2. Stable slowlane income which can be extracted pretty much anytime and anywhere for roughly 100$/per hour (I play Online Poker for the last 7 years). I'll use it only as much as I need for food, rent and minimum extras during transition to Fastlane. I don't have family or kids to provide to.
3. Have some savings to self-fund my Project and will do that as long as I can to avoid early investments -early sharing with sharks.
To test things out before jumping onto serious Fastlane I created a web-service (let's call it #0 ). It is Poker related and it solves a basic problem of many serious poker players. It took me some time, but at a very relaxed pace. In the last 6 months It received around 1000 registered users, solving their problem. Never advertised except for couple forum posts, but new people keep joining every day, and I have clear plans on monetizing it, as currently it's free of charge. I already received several offers on partnership/cross selling and even offer to sell the project.
** BUT** what is most important and valuable I see here is the Experience of Execution and Contacts gathered. I did this and it worked - it really Kicks! And a team of GOOD project admin, designer, HTML/CSS coder, and developer (plus experience on how to find them). I know how they work together, what question they ask, how much they cost and so on.
To complete this LEGO puzzle I also gonna need a good marketing/sales and maybe fill in couple more positions which I don't even know yet about. We learn as we go.
In the next post I gonna put some details about my #1 project with code name "SP". It's already being executed and I will be keeping track of it here, throwing in some facts, numbers, ideas and surely questions cause this forum is a pure Goldmine, thanks to every contributor!
