So I have had plans for an authoritative site in the health niche for quite a long time, I just haven't made the time nor the resources just yet to get rolling with it. The model came up in my train of though in another thread and I think an outline/discussion would be great for some.
How Fastlane do you think it is? 1k per month? 100k per month? Think again!
As with anything, it's all about the execution. With this particular model, doing it the best is important, but uniqueness is of the utmost importance.
It's very simple really... You operate an authoritative expert site in a marketplace and offer endless value for people's real world questions and needs. My expertise and passion is in the health niche, so I will provide an example later.
No BS nonsense, rehashed content, or any other games found on the internet is the goal. You gain people's trust and relationships that can last a lifetime, including cash in your pocket for a lifetime. At least until someone wants to buy you out because they can't compete.
This makes it very easy to develop a brand and presents the opportunity to put a face (as mentioned here often, could be just a new twist on an existing product) on many related products and services, such as extended memberships and services. This could be leads for niche professionals, your product line continuity programs, etc...
The point is, the authoritative content and value is the beginning of an endless funnel you can create.
You can introduce sub-brands and micro niche growth with ease.
The snowball effect is easy to accomplish by reinvesting your revenue. Outsourcing niche experts and quality content writers can fuel your authoritative presence, so an automated scaling is easily achievable. This will extend your reach (or add tentacles you didn't have) as well, as you would be utilizing a team that can be altered at the click of a mouse.
Don't think that everything is saturated and there isn't room for your touch. For example, in the health niche, Natural Health Information Articles and Health Newsletter by Dr. Joseph Mercola, is an example of an authoritative health site. They absolutely dominate certain aspects of the marketplace, but there is plenty of room for competition and actually, improvement.
Specifically, there is no need for some of their recomendations of supplements, etc... But it's part of their revenue model. Sometimes people don't care what's right, they just want to buy something for their particular need.
Mercola target aspects of health and offer valued solutions in the information, and they create products to sell as an attachment. They are quietly doing multi-millions PER month.
How fastlane is that? Low overhead, lasting buyers relationships, info product capability (digital products are extremely profitable, as they do not exist in the physical), easy to scale.
