Hello!
Intro
I've introduced myself previously in this thread. I wanted to share more about my business/side hustle with the community and hopefully get some ideas and feedback.
My current SaaS website provides a convenient way for customers to create purchase orders (procurement). You can check it out here if you want: Appcrual: Enhance your cashflow with Purchase Orders
Currently I have 82 paying customers.
Value problem
Over the years this website was pretty much abandoned and was functioning automatically. The reason it was pretty much on support only is that I did try different ads Facebook, Google and (with limited budget) was unsuccessful in getting any new customers. The only customers I have now are those referred by the accounting software provider when their clients ask for purchase order functionality.
About six months ago, after re-reading the MJ DeMarco books, I decided to give the website another shot. I still had people using it over the years. So my though was maybe there is something and I abandoned it while in the desert of desertion
Since then I did:
1. Decouple the website from the integration, so you can use it without that particular accounting software it was built to piggy back off.
2. Tried running limited google ads with really specific narrowed down keywords. Still was unsuccessful with getting any paying customers through that. (again, with tiny limited ads budget)
After that I thought on implementing a customer referral scheme. But I had no idea if my customers are willing to refer me. So I've implemented a NPS survey to start tracking customer satisfaction. Q: What do you use to track your customer satisfaction and see what kind of impact your actions make?
When I was reading the Unscripted , something struct me. Most probably my Value proposition is not strong/good enough for customers without the accounting software. So if user isn't using that accounting software - they're not getting that good of a Value.
So I started to add more functionality based on my current users feedback. With NPS surveys I could also track trends if customer satisfaction improving when new features are introduced.
Current state
So, I'm currently working on:
1. Adding product catalogue so that it's easier to add repeated items (done)
2. Introduce fine grained access levels for account user employees, etc. (in progress)
3. Introduce purchase request and approval system (automates creation of purchase orders after approval)
4. Add customer referral scheme
5. Repeated purchase orders.
Goal
Get to 100 and then to 1000 customers. Find a system for customer acquisition that work for this business. I would appreciate any help and suggestions for how to achieve this.
Questions to the community
1.How do you track customer feedback and how do you see if any given feature improves customer satisfaction/loyalty ?
2. Any suggestions on how to increate sales and customer acquisition? If you're running SaaS what worked for you?
Thank you for your time!
