If things don't go wrong i will be able to get my first real estate bought cash in the next 16 months. (I have my own almost paid out).
However i really need your opinion if this is worth it at all,
3 years ago the country suffered from a real estate crisis, the people are poor and in the capital there are like 150 000 empty apartments, as lot of new buildings were completed. In fact too much. And the capital is one of the four towns that can provide some decent way of living for most of the people.
Mortgages are in the 7.5 % range. so not easy to afford . Lot of people are leaving the country we have lost like 1 mln in the last 10 years.
The typical rent to price ratio are very poor like 0.5 % , so i am wondering why shall i go trough all the trouble for miserable 5 % per year at best
I don't see how the prices would go up in the near future, and i am so far getting 6.5 % on deposit accounts.
However i am thinking that my money might lose their value during the years and i am trying to figure a way to protect them
I am open to any comments i might get.
