Fresh start.
This thread has become a shit show, and that is my bad. Very honestly my mind was/is a shit show, I am starting to realise that I have a hard time focusing on building a boring business for a long time or am not satisfied with results that are to some degree commendable. Something has influenced me into not wanting to put in the effort to reach €30K a month, but €300K seems achievable lol. Writing this I know it sounds absurd.
Next Friday I am finishing my last project as a subcontractor, I wrote here and there that I am changing my offer but this was again my mind thinking it would be easy (or avoiding discomfort). My own mistakes and trying to create some cutoff to easy success has put me in my current situation where people are confused about what I am offering and my online presence has become distorted.
So, to keep this as a progress update. What have I done?
- Raised prices by about 80%
- No more subcontracting
- Started Google ads for my plumbing/HVAC service
Why? Well it hit me that I have been acting like a pussy, I kept stuck to my old employer while they were making money on my work. I did not want to take full responsibility for the work that I delivered, and most importantly I did not have my own clients! At least if you don't count the subcontracting. I was often working for a average of €50,- an hour at their shitty jobs which was just enough to stay afloat, so that's why I have raised B2C prices to €80,- an hour and the prices per job are also higher.
From this point on I am selling a premium since no single person in the last 1,5 years has been disappointed by my level of expertise and quality of work, it's time I start selling and scaling this since demand is insane at the moment. I have seen where the market demand and high prices are so I am moving that way, I'll need to learn a lot still and get certificates but that makes the barrier of entry only higher. Also I now see that for this business that IS the process, although to me it seems "simple".
After the last project I am moving cities and I have no direct ties to anyone. This is extremely freeing and exciting, and I now have bills to pay which is a kick in the butt.
