Where has the time gone? my last update was in June! ok, sorry I've not been on here for a while, here's whats been happening in my little world:
Health...
Still smoking! which is probably the most frustrating of my health issues, quit for a short period, started again, had 2 lots of hypnotherapy, they obviously didn't work, its frustrating the hell out of me that such a small thing holds so much dominion over me, I am gearing myself up for another attempt at quitting.
I've gained even more weight, my eating habits are terrible, I tend to eat one meal late at night, which of course isn't a good thing, I am also addicted to energy drinks, often downing 2-4 1 litre bottles a day, again this has a massive detrimental effect to both weight and also increases the risk of heart attack.
Both of these have a huge negative effect on my psyche and mental well being, leading to a lot of times where I feel really p*ssed off and low, and its an effort to drag myself out of bed in a morning.

Business wise, a great contract came to an end, and I lost another client due to their business going under (huge tax bill), which has wiped out around 60% of my income. I am at the stage where I'm undecided what to do, I need to bring in more clients, but I also don't want to spend all of my time focusing on a business I am unsure I want to keep and grow.
I have an opportunity offered to me that could very well end up being a 'Golden Goose', I built a website 2 years ago for a local start-up company, they fabricate metal railings, gates and so on. Their turnover has now surpassed a hundred thousand GBP a month, which is pretty phenomenal considering how new the company is. They deal only in manufacturing, and have asked me if I want to create a company that will sell their stuff to the retail market, there is very little competition and I am pretty sure it has a massive potential. I had a meeting with them and we looked at a couple of prices, their main competitors in the retail side also manufacture themselves, but bring in a lot of products too, and the initial price comparison we did on how much I could sell the products vs. the competition wasn't great, so it left me feeling a bit diffused, however, I am sending them a full product list and they will tell me how much they can sell the products to me at, I can then compare and see if it will be worthwhile moving forward, my gut tells me it will, but the figures will confirm it. Another issue I would face going down this route would be logistics, metal is heavy, and figuring out delivery costs/dates/lead times etc would be a big starting hurdle, but one I am sure can be overcome, if anyone has any advice on this I'd be really happy to hear from you.
I've also been having discussions with @Andy Black - what a great guy he is, supportive, influential and encouraging! thank you Andy I really appreciate the time you give me out of your busy life.

So..my health is crap, my business is in uncertain times, there's got to be some light ahead right?...Absolutely!! I have sold my house, and my 6 kids, wife and myself are moving to a beautiful seaside resort in Devon 2 weeks time!, a 7 bed house that will give us more room to breathe, with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the village below and sea around a mile away.
This is definitely the Fresh start we are all needing! I am focusing all of my energy into getting moved into the house and then getting active, the location will allow for a more active healthier lifestyle, walks on the beach, cycling, cleaner fresher air...to coin a phrase used by apple, the 'only thing that will change is everything', I'm putting in place a healthier eating plan, going to crack the smoking once and for all, and get a hell of a lot more exercise.
My youngest is in full time school now too, so I'll have all day every day to fully immerse myself in building my business, whichever form that will take, spend time in the evening with my family hopefully mostly outdoors, then more work when they are all in bed, undisturbed peace and quiet...
