No matter what business you're in, no matter where in the world you are located, the heart and life line of your business is selling. You have got to know how to sell yourself. If you cannot sell, you are heading for trouble.
Having said that, it does not mean that you have to become a copywriter or marketing consultant... , but if you're not adequately educated in how to sell effectively... you're asking for trouble in the long run.
As a copywriter and marketing consultant I recommend the following for anyone involved in a business of their own and anyone who is looking to sell something;
Dan Kennedy - any and all of his books especially Magnetic Marketing
Jay Abraham - any and all of his books and kits
Gary Bencivenga - Bencivenga 100 seminar
David Ogilvy - My life in advertising, Confessions of an Ad man
Successful Direct Marketing Methods - Bob Stone
Breakthrough Advertising - Eugene Schwarz
Scientific Advertising (read it at least 7 times)
