Simplistic question, but I've often wondered this. And it's a somewhat different topic from what's normally discussed.
After spending the last week watching hockey games, (which one can sum up as grown men putting a piece of rubber between two metal posts for 3 hours at a time) I'm curious what the point of all that was.
(and tonight the team I wanted to win, won.. but I'm still unsatisfied for some reason)
Yes, at times it was exciting, but it was ultimately pointless.
I guess the american equivalent popularity-wise would be football. What can a football stadium hold? 50,000-100,000 people? And they sell out every game night.
I enjoy playing sports, and after a game (of whatever, hockey, soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, etc) I always feel great, but when watching, I almost always feel like I've wasted my time.
I assume I'm just not cut out to be a spectator, but I'm curious what other people get out of it?
