How are you going to select replacement teams?

From those who have expressed interest here. We had one team drop out and @Vigilante took that spot -- he requested to be added to this year's league late last season. I told him he had to wait (or hope) for drop outs and thus far, we've had one.

Several more are either dark or unpaid.

Well crap... I was first to respond to the first thread that was posted, but didn't respond here because I didn't want to be redundant.

My proposal was: If you win it all (the playoff championship), I donate an annual membership to a member of your selection. If you do not, you donate an annual membership to a member of my selection.

Being a sporting gentleman, I would be willing to go 'in' for the lesser of the bets (championship or bust). However, I would like to give you an opportunity to accept my proposal as a chance to back up your initial bravado / statements so that at least one member could be inspired with an annual membership.

The bet: Head to head. Winner has better regular season record OR deeper playoff run. Any tie broken by most points scored in regular season.

Add on: When @Andy Black signs up, he joins us in this as a three way bet.

Both. Regular season record first. If one of us makes the playoffs and the other does not, playoffs is the winner. If both make the playoffs, whoever goes farthest in playoffs is winner or regular season record as tiebreaker if both go out in same round. Any other tiebreaker is points scored in regular season.

@Andy Black make just take that as a challenge!

When is the typical draft date? I assume it's online during the week (3rd or 4th week of preseason)?

And draft order is set when everyone pays up?

Last year the draft was the Monday evening before the first Thursday night game. Depends when everyone is paid.

I have a good track record of going into sports I don't know and winning with fantasy teams (think spreadsheets, data, a special & secret tactic, and a few wasted hours) .

However, I'm obsessive-compulsive so know to step away from rabbit holes.

2) Draft order is set (I chose the first random order).
3) Waiver Rules will be FAAB -- Free Agent Acquisition Budget, which by all measures, seems to be the fairest.

$100 waiver budget -- top bid receives waiver claim, in case of ties, person with worst record receives claim.
$100 must last your entire season. You can bid $0.

Scoring DIFFERENCES versus Standard more variation w/kickers and defenses

1) QB Thrown TD (6 vs 4)
2) Half-point PPR (point per reception)
3) Field Goals (sliding scale from 2.5 - 4pts based on distance, missed FG's are NEGATIVE points if less than 40 yards. XP miss, -1. (See league scoring)
4) 100+ Yards Rushing by Player, 2 point bonus.
5) Defensive Changes

• 4th down stops +1,
  
• Tackles for losses .1 point.
• 3-and-outs, .25 points,
  
• Yards allowed > 500, -1pt,
• < 100 yards allowed +3
• 0-100 yards allowed +2
• 100-199 yards allowed +1

Any added points for a QB & WR pair? "stacking".

All it will cost you is your 6th round pick.

If you want to swap spots, respond here so MJ can flip them, put you in my 7 spot, I will take the #14 spot for the whole draft and your 6th round pick giving me 2 picks in the 6th round.

As I understand it everyone needs to have the same number of picks so in such a situation you'd trade your 1st round pick and say 15th round for his 1st round and 6th round.

HOW ABOUT YOU GET 68 AND 73, I GET 41 AND 97?

Nice offer but I'm actually trying to do something else-

I have two picks in the early 40s with not much I like there. So I'm trying to turn the 41 and any late round pick in the 170+ range into two picks anywhere from 65-100. I have a preference for depth with this draft up until about pick 130 so the extra top 100 pick I'd gain is worth the drop back from 41 where I'm likely to be either drafting someone I don't want or reaching for someone I could probably get at 70. Maybe someone else loves the guys likely to go around 40 so they'd be my ideal trade partner.

I run another league of 14 teams where we had pick trading for the first time this season and some are going all in on trading up for three top 15 picks while others just stack up 3rd/4th/5th/6th round picks in trades. I'm more in that second group so far.

Yahoo gave me a C. Yahoo didn't take into account how I was robbed when my friends Allen Robinson and Giovani Bernard were meant to be coming around for a party but some old creep drove up and bundled them into his candywagon.

Draft Summary
Whatever strategy Huge Carrot used to build this team, it should be thrown out, because it didn't work. Picking 13th, they struggled to piece together a competitive team and as a result, are projected to finish 13th in Fantasy Fastlane League with a record of 3-10-0 (1,659 points). They must be in love with the wide receiver position, using their first three picks on A.J. Green (13th overall), Mike Evans (16th), and Jarvis Landry (41st). They ended up with the worst group of RBs in the league, as they have T.J. Yeldon, Tevin Coleman, James Starks, and Devontae Booker on their team.
We're not mad. We're just disappointed.

I look forward to overcoming this minor setback of having a team of RBs who will be getting fatter sitting on the sideline every week.
