Hey everyone,
A little background to start:
- 22 years old
- graduated university last year with a business degree
- currently working a 9-5 that I really truly dislike (lead generation...aka cold-calling)
- 0 debt and about 10k saved
- I've been 'dreaming' of entrepreneurship for years, and have been seriously reading books, blogs, forums, biographies, and watching interviews of other entrepreneurs for the last 2-3 years
I am starting to question whether entrepreneurship is really for me. It seems like any 'real' entrepreneur would of been able to strike out on their own by now, instead of reading about others doing it for the last 3 years. I now wake up to a job I don't want to be at...and I look at my boss, and his boss...and none of it is appealing. Maybe I'm being dramatic, but it really does seem like a depressing future. (Don't get me wrong, they probably make decent salaries, but it's not something I want to strive towards)
Now I'm at the crossroads of where to go next. I don't want to continue on at this job. My mindset and heart are set on entrepreneurship, but I have no ideas and have made little progress towards my own business. The easy answer seems to be go back to school and get a Masters degree...but then I just see myself in a similar spot in a few years, except with more letters to my name and some nice debt to go along with it.
Does anyone have any advice or hard love for me? I'm probably coming off as a pathetic and entitled "Gen Y'er", which I'm well aware of...but I'm throwing this out there anyway.
Thank you for reading,
Infinity
