Yes. We have a fundamentally different definition. I'm using the definition from the original Fastlane book, which seems sensible, because this forum is based on and named after it. Here's a reminder:
To be clear, I agree with you that freelancing is NOT a strong business model, and shouldn't be what entrepreneurs aspire to, although I've kind of been boxed into that area as a result of personal branding. For example, YouTube won't even let me talk about bigger entrepreneurial topics. My channel is boxed into the category "Upwork." I can't even talk about general freelance topics if I want my videos to be seen.
That's why I don't post about freelancing or copywriting much except to answer questions from time to time. If I talk about it, then it promotes the idea that those things define me, but they don't, and I have a lot of work to do to break away from that image. It's collateral forum damage I didn't see coming.
I do have courses running as forum promos. The courses are $10 and the forum promo cost is one way I support the forum. They're Udemy courses so I don't have to be actively engaged with the topic, and nobody has to expect much from me, but those who are going to freelance anyway can still benefit from years of insights. I also have an Inside thread detailing step-by-step how to grow a Udemy business into a full-time semi-passive income for anyone who wants to learn that.
Anyway, I do get the frustration because I've felt it too. The courses and coaching stuff don't bother me because everyone has to be their own boss and make their own good and bad decisions. But I get the frustration with people not aspiring to greater heights and sometimes I want things to be different. The only way I know how to make that happen is to just keep doing my own thing, showing people that you can have whatever you want. You just have to make it happen.
