Hi everyone,
I thought now is a great time to introduce myself, I'm Clenrock. I'm on this forum for a couple of months now, read the book and took action. The start was pretty hard, because I worked hard but didn't see any results. So after a month or so working on this business, I gave up... already.
But what started my interest in entrepreneurship and building a business? Well, I wanted the lifestyle these entrepreneurs talked about. "Having the lifestyle YOU want". Especially the thought of traveling whenever you want to wherever you want ignited this desire to build a successful business. Imagine yourself waking up in the morning thinking about Venice, Italy. If you would want to, you could get a suitcase with some clean underwear, drive to the airport and fly to Venice. (Venice is awesome by the way, beautiful city)
So like a week after I gave up I started thinking about this desire again. Shit! I need to continue with the business, that's the only way I can live this life! Yup, I was 'back'. Started grinding, and had a little breakthrough lately. I'm selling information products, and only sold like 1 product a day. But one day I published a new product and a 'miracle' happened. I started selling 10 products over night.
Of course this 'miracle' wasn't really a miracle. What I did differently this time was to focus on finding a lucrative niche. My first products where just made after a brainstorm session without any knowledge about how it all worked. And seeing no results is really discouraging. If you have read anything about any business you would notice that every business has problems. Some of the problems make you give up, but the successful businesses are not afraid to look the problem right into the eyes. These businesses try to solve the problem, they keep trying untill they solved it. You need a lot of discipline to keep trying and not give up.
I think discipline is one of the most important things you can have to make something a success. Discipline also helps you to do the things you should do but don't want to do. In my opinion that's also really important to be successful, because successful people do the things unsuccessful people don't want to do.
But how to get more discipline? There are several ways to get more discipline. For example try to ALWAYS give a little bit more. When you are working out don't run 5 miles, run 5.1 miles! Two other odd things I did to develop a bit more discipline was to have a kitchen garden and learn to juggle! The kitchen garden is great because you learn how to create a habit and how to have patience. Some of the crops need water 2 times a day and you should not forget that!
Now the juggling is something I would really recommend to learn. It took me only 2 weeks to learn, but you really need to take the time and have the patience to learn this. Also you can see yourself grow after some training. The first times you will try, you will think you will never learn how to juggle. But after some time you see things getting easier and see yourself improving.
Little known fact: learning to juggle makes your brain grow. (Google it, it's true)
Maybe you noticed it, but I'm not originally English. I'm from the Netherlands! And it's great meeting you all.
After only absorbing information on this forum, this was my story to give back! Great meeting you all and good luck with your fastlane journey. For me, it starts with discipline.

(I'll be happy to answer your question and would love to hear your opinion if you think discipline is essential for an entrepreneur)
