I currently have a small business/website with a mailing list.
The mailing list goes out each day and generates traffic to the site, which generates money.
Basically the maths goes like this:
1000 visits = roughly £24.20
Now I get around 7 visits per day for every 100 mailing list subscribers I have.
I can buy mailing lists subscribers from various sources, send FB ads to my signup page, run competitions etc.
Ive found a partner who can generate them at £0.25p per sub. Ive already bought £1k's worth.
So the problem is, I can work out that the maths on this look good. I have £5000 I could use to buy 20,000 subscribers that would be generated within a month.
That would mean an extra £33.88 in revenue per day. Which would pay for the investment after 147 days.
That isn't even taking into consideration the value of the website/business as a whole, should I decide to sell it.
The only problem is - Im finding myself all risk averse, why can't I just happily plunk down the £5000? I feel like something might go wrong (the worst being a google related issue, banning etc).
But it makes sense and I will be on my way to the fastlane by doing it - does anyone else have this risk aversion issue? Particularly at the last minute when things are actually starting to go well?
