There's a company who is a Sales Affiliate for one of my company's products. They basically advertises their unique coupon code on her site/social media. They get a percentage (50%) for every sale. I've developed a good relationship with them. They are good, honest people, which is a rare find in the market that I am in.
The only problem is.....
In the past few days, alot of repeat customers have been using her Coupon Code to make purchases. So instead of me getting 100% of the sale, I only get 50%...and technically its less than that, when you factor in production costs.
They aren't doing anything wrong. They're promoting the product and code on Twitter. My guess is that my repeats go to Twitter looking for a coupon....find hers, and make their purchase.
Is there any way to combat this? (I realize there may not be)
As a stop gap, I put up a Flash Sale banner on my site. But that can't last forever. My next sale isn't until July, so her coupon will be the only one available until then.
Unimportant info: A repeat customer made a rather large purchase with her coupon. 3 (of the same) products for $129. Based on his past purchase info, he became a customer due to our spot on a podcast. Not from her promotion. I couldn't eat that.
I cancelled the order and emailed him with a larger coupon code. About an hour later he ordered again, but this time he ordered 6 (of the same) products. The next morning he ordered 3 more.
Instead of making $60 from this customer, I made about $390 with this quick move.
