I hate it be that snob, but I’m not flying anywhere over 5 hours now if it’s not business class. Yes, it’s absolutely worth the 5x in price, if you get lie flat seats. And also the food and lounges are great too. But the main perk is getting a good night’s sleep on the plane.

I only sleep on the plane if it works for the jet lag purposes. Otherwise I don't so either way I need to stay awake and it's better to move around a lot.

I can imagine this being useful for a long flight when I change many time zones and where I shouldn't sleep after arrival but otherwise it's way too expensive. I never eat on the plane and have no need to be in a lounge.

And sleeping on the plane, bed or not, is still terrible sleep, at least for me. I don't tolerate airplane conditions well (dryness, noise, lack of space to walk around).

I am not at a level willing to pay 5-10x more than economy class either.

But some budget airline offer economy premium or business lite which is 2x the economy price on paper, and if you factor in choosing seat with extra luggage and meal on the plane on top of the economy class package, its almost about the same with the premium version only slightly expensive and hence that made sense for me.

I sometimes pay for a seat with extra leg room but that's for long flights with cheap airlines so it doesn't cost much. Maybe like extra $30, not 2x the ticket price.
